Founded in 2013, the Italian Institute for the Future (IIF) is a non-profit organisation inspired by the tradition of centres of future studies spread all over the world. Its objective is to disseminate in Italy a culture of anticipation, social forecast and the study of megatrends, in order that, at all decision-making levels, both in the public and private sectors, scenarios and analyses anticipating the future can be prepared, and sustainable, long-term policies can be promoted for the Italy of tomorrow. It has been an institutional member of the World Futures Studies Federation since 2018.
The Center for Near Space and the Center for the Future of Europe are part of the IIF as specialist competence centres.
